Porch Talk online
Written by Ted Tait on February 16, 2020
I’m really glad that our Porch Talk show has been so popular. Sometimes the simple ideas are the best ones. For those who don’t already know, Porch Talk is a casual conversation where we get to know one of our neighbors here in Colonial Beach a bit better. Our town is full of interesting people who have led some very interesting lives and contributed a lot to Colonial Beach. It’s great to hear their stories.
Since we started, I have frequently been asked if there was a way to listen to episodes online. Folks hear about a particular interview, but missed hearing it on air, and want a chance to hear it again. We now have past episodes available on our Porch Talk archive page. You can click on any episode to hear it.
I love doing Porch Talk episodes, because I get to talk with so many interesting people but I have not had as much time as I would like to do new episodes. Running WWER takes up most of my free time, and I have a “day job”. But the concept is so simple, that anyone can do it. We are actively looking for more hosts for the show. All you have to do is sit down and chat with somebody you find interesting for 25 minutes and record the conversation. If you are interested, please get in touch by emailing [email protected]. We’d be happy to teach you how the magic is made!
We also have some new shows in the works and opportunities for volunteers in a variety of roles. Please check our open roles page and get in touch if any of them strikes your interest!
Thanks!

It was a pleasure to listen to the porch talk with Bill Taylor here in the Netherlands. I have known Bill since 1972 when I lived with him and his wonderful family in Mansfield (OH) as an exchange student from Brazil. During the program I was glad to learn some awesome facts about Bill’s roundabouts and his inspiring philosophy of life. Congratulations to both Ted Tait and Bill Taylor
