WWER 88.1 FM – Your Community Radio Station
WWER has been on the air since June 2019. As our station matures, we expect WWER to be the voice of Colonial Beach. 88.1 FM is a non-commercial & community radio station. Unlike commercial radio, WWER has a different, and we believe more valuable, contribution to make to the town and its nearby residents. Music will be a part of that, but some of it will be music you haven’t heard in awhile. Colonial Beach is lucky to have some amazing artistic and musical talent, and we will tap into that.
When you hear music on WWER, it will be interspersed with interesting history and information about the music. And our weather reports will include information that is relevant to boaters & beach goers. Our news reports will include stories from in and around Colonial Beach.
News will include the Potomac River Fest, Friday Art Walks, fishing tournaments, Bike Fests, the Holiday Boat Parade, and much more. We will let you know about these local events and include information about the community organizers! If your non-profit has something to publicize on WWER, please fill out and submit this form at least 2 weeks in advance.
The WWER mission is all about the people and events that make this town special! For those who live here, it will truly be the community’s radio station. Visitors can tune to 88.1 FM for music and information about what to do & where to go in our fun beach town. In the spirit of community radio, we want your input.
