Riverfest Fun!
Written by Ted Tait on June 9, 2019
Was it just me, or did Riverfest seem bigger and better than ever this year? The carnival was shiny and new, with cool lighting on the rides. The weather was just about perfect on Saturday, with lots of people enjoying the beach, the boardwalk and tours of the Edna Lockwood. The fireworks were spectacular as always! I was a little worried that the wind would put a stop to them, but the show went on and looked great!
And last but certainly not least, the parade seemed bigger and better than ever! So many entries including a LGBTQ golf cart contingent who won first prize! We also participated with Tom Larson’s 1955 Chevy Pickup hosting WWER! As Chris and I rode on the back of his truck with 88.1FM blasting to the crowd, there were lots of people wishing us well and congratulating us. It seems we are a hit! It was so heartwarming to see that people appreciate WWER! We were really feeling the love!
Thanks to everyone for coming out to make Riverfest so much fun! We’re basking in the warmth for a moment, but we will be back to work with more improvements on the station soon. Keep listening!
