Setback

This week after visiting our construction site, I am reminded of that old saying “One step forward, two steps back” (it was also a song by John Sebastian in the 70’s). We made good progress on our electrical work this week. But when the rain storms came again, we learned that some roof patching we did had no effect and our roof continues to leak. The only thing to do at this stage is replace it. More time and more cost, but the last thing we want to do half-way is the roof over our heads!
On the plus side, we had a nice write up this week in the Colonial Beach Community Foundation‘s newsletter. WWER was started as an initiative of the Foundation, and they continue to be a great supporter of our work. The publicity helps to spread the word about our need for donations to build the studio, and our GoFundMe continues to gather donations. Apparently one donor is fond of nice round numbers, because recent donations add up to $434, bringing our total so far to a nice even $5400.
