Thanks Dave!

As I write this from my front porch, it’s a beautiful Spring day! Despite warnings of a chance of rain from our weather man Dave, there isn’t a cloud in the sky! I can’t blame Dave, he gets his weather forecasts from the National Weather Service. I should also point out that Dave has been one of our most dedicated volunteers at WWER since before we went on the air nearly 2 years ago! Yes, June 1 will mark 2 years for us, and Dave has been along for the entire ride and done our weather updates 365 days a year for all of that time! It sounds easy, but it takes dedication. Dave gets up around 5AM to make sure the latest forecast is on air each day. Doesn’t matter if he has a head cold, or is on vacation in the Carolinas, Dave always updates the weather. He’s never called in ‘sick’.
So on this gorgeous Sunday, rather than blaming the weather man as so many of us do, I am thanking him for his steadfast dedication.

Hey… I know him! He’s my math teacher!

All of our volunteers give their time to WWER without pay, so many of us still need to work at our day jobs!

Thanks, Ted! I’m happy to have the chance to be heard over the air. After having to leave college radio (WWVU-FM, Morgantown) because I graduated, I had hoped to land a fill-in position somewhere to cover for DJs out sick or on vacation. After 37 years, I had long given up hope on that dream. So, I don’t mind getting up early on a daily basis. ?
