Variety is the spice of life!

Variety is the spice of life, that gives it all its flavor. You’ve heard the expression, and it’s what makes WWER so much fun to listen to! We play such a wide variety that you never know what is coming next. I often hear from listeners who tell me that’s one of the things they love about listening to WWER.
The expression was coined by William Cowper (pictured) in 1785. Two shows that epitomize that ideal (we like to think they all do in some way) are the Blue Bus (heard Monday nights) and Calder’s Collection (Sunday at 9PM and Tuesday at 11PM). Both shows on the surface seem like random meanderings of music, but if you really listen, each show follows a theme, or at least a train of thought. It’s fun to ride along with Bill Calder Sunday evening, or Tuesday if you miss the first presentation.
Another fun ride on Tuesday evenings is Rider’s Radio Theater. It’s a bit of country music, and a fun parody that pays homage to 1930’s era Western singing cowboy serials. The ongoing story develops each week on Tuesday at 8PM on 88.1FM. We’re trying to keep it interesting, and maybe give you a reason to turn off the TV for awhile, even in the evening!
